The YMCA of Florida's First Coast "Y University" parallels a typical college or university curriculum. Each program area has a defined tract for training that is guided by a Departmental Dean (i.e. Dean of Child Care, Dean of Wellness, etc.).
The University will be divided into 5 Colleges which give employees the opportunity to specialize in a particular area of study. The 5 Colleges and Deans are as follows:

In our Childcare track, you'll learn goals, objectives, and the unique components of YMCA childcare programs. Classes cover YMCA program history and philosophy; YMCA child care facts; principles and initiatives and YMCA guidelines and quality checks. These courses lead to YMCA certification in childcare.

Though the YMCA is a non-profit, we're still a business and business is about doing the little things right over and over again. This college covers many important details that will be crucial to your YMCA career, from New Employee Orientations to Hiring and Firing within the Law to Front Desk Training to Grant Writing and "Really Caring" Training.
